My Philosophy of Education
My goal for students
is that they grow up to be happy, productive adults with the tools to
continue learning in whatever areas may interest them. In order to accomplish
this goal, I implement the following stategies in my classroom:
- I stress problem
solving and critical thinking in all subjects.
- Realizing that
students of any age learn in different ways, I teach to a variety of
learning
styles.
- I aim toward fostering
a sense of independence and confidence, along with strong interpersonal
skills.
- I try to demonstrate
my own interest and enthusiasm for learning in the hope that these attitudes
will spread to my students and light them on fire in their desire to
learn.
- I've found that
one of the the most effective ways for children to learn is for them
to be actively involved and having a good time. This is one reason why
I like to incorporate games, hands-on projects, and manipulatives into
my teaching. Children tend to learn more easily if they are interested,
active and having fun.
